Big Mike Roate

I am far from perfect. This page is about me as an artist. I always wanted to be one and be the best one I could be. It is a never ending journey I am enjoying while trying to enjoy life itself. 

I grew up in Illinois and was the kid that always drew in class. My heros growing up was Big Daddy Roth, Jim Henson, and anyone that drew for MAD, Cracked and Cartoons. In Sixth grade I drew pictures of Louie the Lightenbug and TMNT for money. As I got older I sold T-shirts and drawings I created and was given an oppertunity to work on a card game called SMART. Since I was 12 I worked a lot of different jobs and as well as working on becoming and artist. 

My Sophmore year of college I got a job working for student services and one at Adventureland Theme Park drawing caricatures with pencil and airbrush. It was the first time I had a full time art job over the summer. I worked there 6 days a week open to close for 14 summers. It may have taken me time to go on my own, but I am glad I did. 

Since I have went on my own I had more of a drive and creativity to fine my own voice in my art and love to keep pressing the boundries in my talents. I enjoy challenges and have a thrist to improve my skills. I know this will helps me give my clients and furture clients the best solutions to thier and my artistic solutions to any need. Except baking.....I do not bake very well even though I love cookies.
